Festflash

The Caribbean Night will focus on highlighting various forms of Cultural Expressions in dance, song and drama from Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean.

The idea is to have a festive night of pure non-stop and varied entertainment which centers on the celebration of our ancestral joys and the loud proclamation of our Heritage as well as the wider Caribbean support for that spirit.

The various cultural forms to be included in the show are zouk, calypso, reggae, jazz and afro calypso to name a few.

Activities on the Heritage Calendar of Events are divided into village productions and Committee productions.  As the names imply, Village productions are those shows produced and presented by the villages themselves, while Committee shows are  produced by the Tobago Festivals Committee, which manages the entire Festival.  Committee shows are usually priced at $40.00 for Adults and $20.00 for Children, while Village Shows are normally $20.00 for Adults and $10.00 for Children.

The Tobago Heritage Festival 2007 is an event not to be missed and we look forward to seeing you in Tobago.

anchoring traditions
The preservation of folk traditions and heritage is equally important as the restoration of materials, and protecting the environment.
It is an anchor point which society needs to stem the erosion of values held precious.

begin the Heritage
The Festival begins on July 13th 2007. Over the two week period each village will attempt to venerate, celebrate or narrate pieces of Tobago history. Natural legacies are also part of the Festival, and account for numerous forays into the physical characteristics of the land and sea. Heritage Festival 2007 culminates in an Emancipation Day parade and Food Fair at the Pigeon Point Heritage Park.
