Festflash

The Festival begins on July 13th 2007. Over the two week period each village will attempt to venerate, celebrate or narrate pieces of Tobago history. Natural legacies are also part of the Festival, and account for numerous forays into the physical characteristics of the land and sea. Heritage Festival 2007 culminates in an Emancipation Day parade and Food Fair at the Pigeon Point Heritage Park.

Continuing the trend from last year, the Steel Pan will once again feature on the 2006 Heritage Calendar of Events in the form of the Pan Festival. The Pan Festival will serve as a medium through which the national instrument can have a more meaningful involvement in the Tobago Heritage Festival.

Each steel band will develop a twenty-five (25) minute production including

  • Folk Dance and Pan
  • Folk Singing and Pan
  • And where necessary a Skit/Play
  • A costumed performing cast

All are invited to listen to the sweet sounds of the national instrument at the Pan Festival.
